Jennifer Lleras
My art is trash.
I am Maryland Artist Jennifer Lleras, I am a rescuer and repurposer of found objects.
My work consists of assemblage canvas works painted in a mixture of acrylic paint and wax which must be kept near me on a hot plate. These piece are typically centralized around vintage baby doll parts and/or bones and skulls found in nature.
I also rescue creatures from thrift stores, yard sales, and markets, and perform my version of plastix surgery on them, giving them new purpose and rebirth.
I hail from Hampstead, MD and am a graduate of Towson University's Fine Art and graphic Design program.
I am the recipient of several GD Mag design awards, and have been featured on the MPT Artworks Uncorked and Untapped.
